This thread is open for WIPs, comments, and final submissions for the design of CAP 20. Important considerations that will come into play over the course of this thread are base stats and abilities. Please see the process guide for clarification on the timing of these decisions and for the timing of the closure of this thread. Warnings will be posted multiple days ahead of submission closure.

***All material in both the main design and supporting material must be your own. Using another piece of art for inspiration is allowed, but blatant plagiarism will result in warnings or bans depending on the severity.***

Collaborative material (such as work made by multiple artists or a vision and art direction by a non-artist and execution by an artist) is not permitted.

Final Submission Post

All artists must make a final submission post conforming to the following rules, including those for the Main Design, in order to be included in the art poll.
  • The post must have "Final Submission" (in bold) as the first line, with the Main Design included in image tags below that, and supporting material (if applicable) below the Main Design.
  • All supporting art must be included as links or as linked thumbnails no larger than 150 pixels in either dimension. Do not include full images of supporting art in the final submission.
  • Only make one (1) final submission post. Artists are welcome to work on multiple designs and get feedback from the community, but only one design can be submitted for final consideration. If you wish to alter any aspect of your final submission, then edit your post. Do not make a new one, even if you delete your original post. Any deleting and re-posting will be treated as bumping and is subject to moderation.

By making a final submission, an artist gives the CAP project permission to use the submitted art for CAP and related projects. The artist also consents that the design can be interpreted by other artists for the CAP project and for other promotional purposes.

Artists cannot submit any artwork that has been previously or that is currently used by another project not affiliated with CAP. The winning CAP artist agrees to not later use the winning design for another project or contest not affiliated with CAP.

Main Design

The main design is intended to follow the same general posing and layout as the "Official Art" for existing in-game Pokemon. It must be suitable for display on the CAP PokeDex section of the CAP Website and any other CAP propaganda where a picture of the Pokemon is needed.

The comparison to 'Official Pokemon Art' is only applicable to the basic content of the main design; it does not imply any standards or guidelines regarding artistic style or rendering technique.

The following rules of content must be followed for the Main Design:
  • It must consist of a single Pokemon on a plain white background with no parts of the Pokemon cut off by the canvas.
  • It must not include offensive or obscene imagery, or be intended to mock or insult the project or other users.
  • No props, action effects, move effects, or additional objects can be rendered on or around the Pokemon. If a prop is part of the Pokemon's basic design (ie. Conkeldurr's pillars), then it is acceptable.
  • Any 2D digital or scanned traditional drawing may be used. It must be in full color. 3D media and photos are not allowed.
  • The design must be colored lineart with an distinct outline on the entire subject in contrast to the subject and background. Colored outlines are allowed but must not obstruct the clarity of the design.
  • No part of the design can be blurred into the background or blended into the background in any way.
  • The maximum allowed image dimension is 640 pixels and the minimum is 320 pixels. The maximum allowed image filesize is 200 kB.
  • It must be in jpg, png or gif format and must be hosted on a reliable image hosting service (such as imgur or puush). Do not use the forum's 'Upload a File' feature. Do not use Iaza or Ezimba.

The rules for main designs will be strictly enforced. Do not make comparisons to in-game Pokemon designs or to past CAP designs to determine if your design is in compliance with these rules. Some in-game Pokemon designs and past CAP designs do not conform with the current CAP art submission rules, and emulating those designs is not an acceptable excuse for breaking the strict interpretation of the current rules.

Supporting Material

There are almost no rules when it comes to supporting material. Action scenes, movement studies, interaction with other Pokemon, animations, sculptures, and cartoon strips are all allowed. Non-art supporting material is also allowed. This includes detailed descriptions of the art, background data, stories, etc. All supporting art and information must be related to the main design in some way.

Posting Rules

Intentionally or unintentionally, thread-hogging tends to be more prevalent in the art submission thread compared to other CAP threads. In order to ensure that everyone has a reasonable chance to showcase their designs and air their opinions, thread-hogging will be moderated. If you wish to add new comments or art, but don't want to hog the thread, please consider editing your most recent post to add new content.

Posting Rules: Artists
  • Artists can post any work-in-progress (WIP) artwork in order to solicit feedback or to help develop ideas. WIP artwork does not need to conform to the standards of a Main Design. It can be in any medium or stage of completion, but it must be related to an original art design by the poster.
  • Each post should contain no more than one (1) full sized image which is no larger than 640 pixels in either dimension with a filesize no larger than 200 kB . Artists should post links to additional art or use linking thumbnails. Each thumbnail can be no larger than 150 pixels in either dimension. Any number of thumbnails can be included in a post.
  • The use of hide tags does not circumvent or alter any of the image posting rules.
  • Images must be in jpg, png or gif format and must be hosted on a reliable image hosting service (such as imgur or puush). Do not use the forum's 'Upload a File' feature. Do not use Iaza or Ezimba.
  • Out of courtesy to users with lower bandwidth, artists should not post links to images with filesizes exceeding 500 kB. You must include a warning if you do.
  • Do not post inconsequential updates to designs. Only if you have made a significant change should you post an update in the thread.
  • Do not post to state your intended design. You may not reserve an idea for yourself.
  • No bumping art or begging for feedback. If no one comments on your design, consider the silence to be your feedback. Also, check out the #cap IRC channel for open real-time discussion on CAP art.
  • Do not post questions asking for help in making art. For art resources on Smogon, check out Smeargle's Studio.

Posting Rules: Commenters
  • Please DO post constructive feedback for artists.
  • Do not post ideas or images to serve as inspiration for artists or attempt to commission an artist in the thread to render your idea.
  • Do not declare any artwork as "the winner" or make similar comments to that effect. Such posts are insulting to all the other competing artists.
  • Do not comment that a design does or does not "look like a Pokemon/Digimon". There is no artistic style guide for Pokemon and therefore such comments are unable to be substantiated or refuted.
  • Do not repost images from the thread. When quoting a post, remove any images.

Additionally, please do not suggest names for your or other peoples' concepts, as it may bias the name poll. Everyone should have a fair chance to suggest a name during the naming stage.

Art Polls

All art polls will contain the Main Design and, if applicable, a link below it titled "Supporting Material". This will link to the artists final submission post, if applicable. All final submissions conforming to the rules above will be slated.

CAP20 so far:

Typing: Water/Steel
Known Moves: Calm Mind, Dragon Dance
Abilities: Water Veil, ???
Stats: 103/110/90/95/65/97

Leadership Team:

nyttyn - Topic Leader
Ununhexium - Typing Leader
trc - Abilities Leader
HeaLnDeaL - Stats Leader
Snobalt - Movepool Leader

Concept:
Name: Use the Boost to Get Through!

General Description: A sweeper with several boosting options that result in completely different checks and counters. While each set should be viable in its own right, the unpredictability of this Pokemon should make it much better than any one set alone.

Justification: In the early days of Pokemon X and Y, we experienced the first Pokemon that could (viably) boost and sweep from either the physical or special side: Mega Lucario. While it was clear his unpredictability could have a devastating effect (having your Chansey eat a Close Combat, Will-O-Wisping on the Nasty Plot, etc.) the true extent to which this could make a Pokemon better was masked by the fact that Lucario's sets were both already amazing. The purpose of this concept would therefore be to explore the impact of unpredictability in sweepers by creating a Pokemon that can run several boosting sets, none of which are dominant in their own right, but that when combined can result in an extremely dangerous threat.

Questions To Be Answered:
  • Is there a limit to how much unpredictability can make a Pokemon better? Can it make a decent Pokemon great? Or can it only make them usable?
  • How does being unpredictable with boosting options compare to other forms of unpredictability (such as uncommon coverage moves or trying to speed creep certain threats)? Is unpredictability in sweepers inherently more dangerous because of how easily they can win a game?
  • For a Pokemon that is already unpredictable, will we see the use of strange coverage moves (as many sweepers tend to run) or will it tend to stick to standard sets because it already has the element of surprise?
  • Which boosting moves are distinct enough to completely change a Pokemon's checks/counters? Are Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, and Agility the only ones that can fit this concept? Or is there a way to incorporate moves such as Dragon Dance without giving the Pokemon "the best of both worlds".
  • How effective will double boosting sets be on this Pokemon? Will the ability to "pick your counters" on a Pokemon already designed to bypass its counters be too good? Or can it be designed so that the loss of coverage will still leave it with several checks and counters on any set?
  • To what extent will teams have to prepare for this Pokemon? Will they have to pack several checks/counters like for M-Lucario? Or will they be able to just use a standard team so long as they can identify the set early?

WIP

Well i guess i'm going to be posting this already, it isnt finished yet since the shading is going to take an absolute age and i'll probably redesign it at some point with better lineart and whathave you. So for now here is my first CAP 20 concept, i'd love to hear what you people think and how it can be improved, i have a second design that i will post tomorrow on this which is the more 'speedy' CAP design but for now here is my whale boat ^_^

Oh wow, the thread opened! I had been following the Thread Hogging discussion on the CPR forum and I understand that you guys did not implement the new two-thread-system yet. Just to let you mods know, I think it would work well to have the comments and submissions split into two threads. So if it would come up again for CAP 21, it would have my support!

Anyhow, I might as well get my proposal for this CAP out of the way:

SCUBAMON

It still needs quite a bit of work and I've got some other (better) ideas for it in my mind, but I won't be updating this anytime soon.
If you like it or would like to see something changed, please let me know!
Have a good day everyone:)

Hey everybody :) Heres my WIP art submission, I would love here your thoughts on it. As I have a few other ideas in my head atm and want to see if you guys think that this one is worth pursuing... Thanks! :D

It's a really rough draft, but it's supposed to be an anchor and a shark combined. The reason I combined these two was simply, Whats more water steel-like then an anchor. Literally its metal that spends most of its time either on water or right above it. Then sharks are just freaking cool so why not mix the two.
Hope you guys like, I would love here what you guys think I should do with it :)

Ah yes. Here we have Netaro-CAP, a freshwater-dwelling turtle whose shell appears to be rusting. Rumors about this Pokemon state that he can sleep for at least three years. However, once he wakes up, he's quite a hard worker, helping fetch water for villages all over Kalos and Hoenn. Netaro-CAP is also known to be capable of purifying seawater so humans and other Pokemon that live on land and freshwater can drink it.

Justification: I designed a freshwater creature because Cawmodore, Volkraken, and Plasmanta are all maritime creatures, and I got bored of what seems to be a pattern. Kyuzeth and I were actually discussing something like this on DeviantArt a few days ago, and this is what I was telling him about. He's based on Sannen Netaro, the man who slept for three years, according to Japanese folklore.

EDIT: Feedback time!

Magistrum: Loving the mantis shrimp so far! Try to avoid any resemblance to the adorable Krilowatt, though. Just a reminder; I don't see any similarities other than being shrimp. Keep it up!

Golurkyourself Oh yeah, I remember that design from CAP 17 back before I joined. It looked cool then, and it looks cool now. Not much to explain.

Knirp That's an adorable scuba creature. Love the green you used.

aXl The yeti crab's feet look a bit too fluffy, but other than that, you're good to go! I guess you could make it slightly less fluffy, but keep some of it there to emphasize the yeti in yeti crab. Maybe once you color the fur, it could be gold?

EDIT 2: More replies.

Doran Dragon You have a good point in regards to the lack of the Steel-type vibe. I think I should make the spikes white, as a reference to the Mario Kart franchise's "blue shell from hell".

EDIT 3: Saturated the blue quite a bit; colored the spikes white, both as references to that blasted blue shell from Mario Kart.

EDIT 4: Another reply:

paintseagull I'll take the idea of a bulkier shell into consideration, but the blue is appears unfitting because it's a reference to rusting metal, not just that dreaded blue shell. Should I leave the white spikes, though? Decisions, decisions...

EDIT 5: Made the shell a bit bulkier, and added a white circular piece in between the outer shell and the belly.

EDIT 6: Changed the flavor description to call the Pokemon "Netaro-CAP" instead of "Turtle-CAP".

EDIT 7: Here, have a reference for Netaro-CAP's back side: http://imgur.com/9FPZrdE

Sweet, Art submissions are up. Time to post a concept for the first time in 9 CAPs.

So in looking for a good animal to base this concept off of, I google image searched "Crustaceans" and found the Kiwa Hirsuta, also known as the Yeti Crab. After some research, I discovered that Yeti Crabs are a specialized species of crab that lives on the ocean floor near deep-sea vents that use their furry appendages to cultivate and marine bacteria which they then use for sustenance. Out of the two Kiwa species that have been discovered, Hirsuta and Puravida, the Puravida are known for their participation in an undersea "dance" where they wave their arms back and forth in order to provide fresh oxygen and nutrients to the bacteria. So the Yeti Crab is a farming, dancing undersea crustacean. Seems like it'd fit the bill for Calm Mind/Dragon Dance.

All I've made as of now are a few sketches of Yeticrabmon to get the idea down, and I'll probably do more of these before beginning to create digital art for the concept. In regards to the concept itself, I gave it a bit of an eastern monk aesthetic to help explain the constantly outstretched arms as well as to better illustrate how it could be applied to the Calm Mind end of the boosting spectrum. Currently, I have it with two sets of crossed legs; one pair which can be seen relatively clearly from this perspective and a hindset that would be visible from the back. Currently I'm trying to come up with a more flavorful way to illustrate the fur, perhaps better include elements of Steel into the design, and perhaps experiment with different styles of legs, as I feel I could better incorporate the 8 appendages of the Yeti crab with further experimentation.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice to improve the concept, feel free to share.

Also, best of luck to all of the artists. May the best design win. +)

Old version

Yay Art Submission is open so once again it is time for me to raise my ugly head from lurking and actually contribute.

This was first thing I came up with and then couldn't think about anything else. I quess it is cute, but I'm not sure if it fills the Steel typing that well.

WIP

Very WIP, but pretty much my only solid design idea. Based on scuba gear.

Both of them are ideas on what the helmet could look like, as I'm having some trouble thinking of an interesting way to make the head.
The second one has a sort of "sea-slug" attached to its helmet, with really no purpose other than to make it look not bland.

Ooh Water/Steel!!! Let me design a Kanmusu! Preferably someone who is spunky and assertive and looks like Kongou-chan :'D *gets shot*

Rough WIP:

Based on the Mantis Shrimp.

Since the concept of this CAP is about having an equally viable Dragon Dance and Calm Mind sets, I chose an aggressive base animal that is known to throw extremely quick and excruciating punches as well as creating cavitation bubbles that produce shockwaves, which seems to cover and justify both physical and special attacking. The two forms of the claw (modes, if you will), are a nod to attacking both physically and specially too.

Since Dragon Dance is a thing for this CAP, I think that a stat spread with pretty good speed is quite possible, so I tried making the design based on Drapion's body type. The head design is a bit of a nod to Dragon Dance as well (making it look a bit draconic). And have you ever heard of the Dragon Shrimp recipe?

I'm not that settled yet with the head design tho (i'd probably change it a bit), but what do you think?

As always, comments, critiques and criticisms are welcome :)

And so, I make my glorious return to CAP with some new concept art! Of course, this might not be the final product; I'm unsure if I should add more or not:

Now, when I think of water and steel, the first thing that comes to my mind are boats and submarines. The latter is what I chose for this CAP, mainly because it made me think of Sharpedo; if we have a Pokemon that's a mix between a sea creature and a torpedo, why not have one that's a (loose) mix between a sea creature and a submarine? This totally isn't an excuse to make a Pokemon that has Sharpedo ammunition, no.

This is primarily based on an orca (one of the few ocean predators tougher than sharks and one that is definitely more of a physical attacker, with the submarine bits providing reasoning for the ability to be a special attacker), but looking at it now, it kinda just looks like a generic whale. Oh, well. We don't have enough whale Pokemon anyway.

Like with my Volkraken prevo art, I'm doubt this will win; the rest of you have made some art that's way better than this. However, I feel like I have more of a chance this time! Good luck to all of you! C:

Also, I would greatly appreciate C&C!~

very wip, will add colors/shading later

based on narwhals. I decided to focus more on the physical aspect, giving it a prominent horns and a "helmet". its spout is a nod towards it's potential "special" aspect of its moveset.

it's whale/seal like body represents the Water typing, while its helmet and horn represent the steel side. I'm also considering to allow it to "retract" its horn, forming a cannon/spout like mechanism in its place, since we're trying to allow Calm Mind/Dragon Dance to be equally viable. criticism is much appreciated!

So my cap entry is a seaslug made of mercury
mod edit: please don't give the design a name before the name submission stage
(geez, i've been gone so long that i forgot the number 1 rule. No poll jumping!/the nickname is still in the quoted post though Phione still, thanks for the reminder)

Im gonna assume this isnt a significant enough of a change, I hope this does well enough to differentiate my mercury slug from CaP19. Along with a new design, I bring some more new extra art, just to show the mouth and how it moves.

hope im not encroaching on golurkyourself with this

a page of a bunch of color schemes to replace the main with or for shones.
warning: large file

how my cap 20 moves

PixelMoniac_ - Currently, it feels like a whale with some ship parts slapped onto it. try to incorporate the ship parts more organically.

Knirp - If you played with the proportions a little bit, this looks like it could be a great prevo to something badass. Why not try to conceptualize an evo for your current design?

hendrix96 - great concept. I'd love to see more art for this guy.

Integer Mova - another cool design. I dont really get a steel vibe from it though.

aXl - Nice art, design is very interesting, I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. However, it lends itself to looking more like a psychic type, than steel.

Golurkyourself - I remember this guy and glaucus is always an interesting creature to see turned into a fakemon. I cant wait to see how you update it for the new cap

Sgt.Moose - Who says a cap has to be intimidating! Not Mollux! If you can integrate the pipes into the design and make it flow better, Im sure this could be another cutie in the top. Why not make the body literally water in a pipe system?

Sunfished - I personally prefer the first, but the second looks less like a guy in a suit. if you could make it less guy in a suit and more a living suit, that would be great. Also, I would say exaggerate proportions a little more, maybe shorten the arms, but make the shoulders wider with a bigger head?

Magistrum - Very cool design, and this might be because of the artstyle, but it feels a bit overdesigned? I feel the head could be simplified. If you plan to have very few colors, the lines might be alright, but seeing as its a mantis shrimp, that would be an injustice! Generally, the more colors you have, the less detail you ought to have, remember that when you get into coloring.

Igloo the Almighty - I would argue that if you want to mix a sub with a whale, you should mix it with a sperm whale. Your design, as with pixelmoniac_'s whale, seems to be just an animal with ship parts put on it. I would say you should try to avoid making the design look like the source material. Sure rattata is a rat, but if you put it next to an image of a rat, you can see how gamefreak decided to imply rat while making rattata it's own creature.

justinjiaxinghu - This is personal preference, but i would make the horn straight without the jagged shards jutting out. if you wanna focus on the blowhole for special attacks, why not give it a Quasimodo hump with a hole pointing at the opponent. think mega blastoise's top cannon covered in flesh.

Doran Dragon - hahahah you suck, :^) your design doesnt even look like it could do physical attacks

Slapperfish - Cool idea, cool design. However, this CAP is supposed to be able to do both physical and special attacking. I cant really see your design having too much special attack ability. I cant really think of how to fix this. maybe make the body water covered in those iron scales?

HeaLnDeaL - Way to think out of the box. llamas are known for their spitting ability. However I think you worried too much on how you were going to make it water type as the steel doesnt really show through as well.

KAIZA - Simon! Just who the hell do you think we are? Let me see you grit those teeth! Dai Gunzen will be ours! hahahahha absolutely fantastic, I love it. I would be proud to have the Dai Gurren on the CaP roster

Bramblestein - oh the hue-MANATEE :O what a cute guy. Why not make the tail the propeller?

Otter Power - The decorator crab is cool for sure, but for the purposes of this cap, I would say the otter fits better. though the face looks more distinctively capybara. Might wanna see about fixing that. It works for cartooning, but not so well for this kind of thing where such a distinction can change the concept in ways you dont intend.

Emvee - its certainly cool looking, I can see this being something like slowthulu by darksilvania. I would say make the head and the shell the same piece. also, why not give us a front view?

Quanyails - its aDORABLE! Its pretty good right now, but I think you could make it more defined without losing the cuteness. Make the bathtub more interesting, I like Paintseagul's suggestion of those fancy tub legs. It looks a little too baby form in its current iteration.

Nightmare Serum - Another case of prevolution, but a great start! " I know it doesn't look organic" thats not actually true. The dart aspect of the design is so well woven into the narwhal that it looks "organic". my suggestion really is just to design what your current entry would evolve into and i feel you will have a very solid entry.

Hollymon - as Integer Mova said, the face and the hair are very reminiscent of meloetta. I'd like to see you try other concepts and designs with this idea.

Charniodiscus - cool idea, love the axolotl references. I feel like the body is empty and that the machine parts are too slapped on. Can you try to make the armor more important to the design?

For the color scheme, I agree that silver looks bland. Maybe mix it up with silver + seafoam green or something?

Oh boy, time for another CAP submission! This is like, what, the third aquatic-themed CAP in a row? XD

Anyway, here's my current entry:

This one's based on Dunkleosteus and, to some extent, a staple remover (though it remains to be seen if the finished CAP will remove common team staples with ease).

WIP

So, here's my WIP. Basically it's a Water Ninja Llama, and my plan is to make the fur look like water droplets as I progress in my shading. There's still a lot of things I want to do before I'm finished with it, but for now I guess this is a taste of my current plan. I just really don't want to make a sea creature :)

Well, this is my first time participating, so I really hope I'm doing this properly. ^^;
WIP

For the design, I decided to brainstorm by reversing the usual convention...which in this case is to create a pun and base the design around it instead of the other way around. ^^;
In this case, given the series' Japanese origins, I wanted to create a pun using Japanese words to get inspiration, and it just so happened the words for 'squid' and 'fleet' match quite nicely! And it also matched with the Water/Steel typing, so it was win-win.

And thus, in the spirit of the occasional hybrid designs in Pokemon, I went for a squid/battleship hybrid. From the actual drawing, the whole "battleship" part isn't that obvious, so I also made a sketch showing its backside. It also has a handy cannon back there! :D Or maybe it's for show...

Of course, I'd love to hear any feedback about it; anything that needs changing or doesn't work with it, plus I still haven't decided on a color scheme for it. ^^;

EDIT: Doran Dragon Quanyails paintseagull: Thanks for the feedback! :)
Based on your advice, I've decided to change its backside to be a bit more organic, as well as removed the anchor symbol. It was kinda inspired by Koffing's, but I do guess it was a bit superfluous (I added it because I feared it still didn't look battleship enough. ^^; )

I will try making a few color palettes for it later. :)

EDIT #2: Added base colors. Also, I'm trying a few color palettes, as shown here. I'm still open for feedback, plus any better color combinations are welcome. ^^;

Just a WIP, but it's a manatee who uses one of those everglades boat propellers (giant fans in the cage out of the water) to get around. It also has some bandages because sometimes manatees get a little banged up. Will probably do a cleaner image in a different pose, but wanted to get some feedback first. Color will come later.

Oh my god yay cap designing thread!

Alright, so I have two possible designs I'm deciding between, wanna know which people like better so I can continue on one.

http://puu.sh/gT5K0/5dd9fcafc1.png
My first concept is a Decorator Crab. the crab itself is made of metal (which'll be visible when it's coloured). On its head is a reef-y shell where it collects weeds and corals to stick on it. Since this is a CAP that can boost itself in different ways, I thought it'd be interesting to have a creature that attaches different things to itself to adapt to different environments. (If this makes it through, totally submitting "Decoreef" as its name.)

http://puu.sh/gT5HW/f1ef967bf9.png
My other concept is, what else but a River Otter? The main body will be bluish/purplish and colour; its chest shell, the blades, and its fans will all be a metal silver. Brings to mind a wonderful mental image of it swirling through the water, dancing and spinning and slicing at unsuspecting opponents.

So those are my current concepts so far. Before I go through with one, I wanna hear which one you guys like the best. Thanks!

A WIP, but it's basically similar to a whale with a battle ship/cannon on its head. My photoshop skills aren't too great but I basically wanted to give a little go at this. Similar to whishcash and gyarados it uses dragon dance by wiggling or swimming in a circle. gray color/steel plating to obviously represent steel type. gave it a cute little nose with two dots :]

A WIP, but I wanted to draw mine based on an ugly fish. A lot of sea creatures are beautiful, yes, but a lot of what the sea has to offer is also mysterious and to some, ugly. I figured a steel type who looks like it could put up a fight would look nice for CAP 20. Really enjoyed making this

A WIP, but mine is a sea dragon (a kraken with a sea dragons head). It had a red cape and abs of steel to represent its steel typing as well as its dominance as a water type.

This WIP is a very intelligent and dangerous water/steel sea creature. It has a seaweed cape that hardened over time to form a metallic shield to protect it from behind (green color metal)... but that's not even the best part. It has a shell helmet made of the hardest iron in existence, where it stores all it's knowledge and converts brain waves into battling techniques (for calm mind). It uses the blades on its arms in combat and spits dirty water out of its mouth to anger opponents. Moves relatively fast despite having a metallic shield cape on it's back and therefore can dragon dance.

All comments are given with the underlying principle that DD/CM-using pokemon need to be organic, agile, dexterous, feel free to ignore points to that effect if you disagree

PixelMoniac_ Interesting, pretty clever design but ultimately too inorganic and awkward. Try to rework the top part of the design
Knirp Great start, esp the head, & colour scheme. It's lacking something though, and the two eyes staring out of darkness aren't quite working for me, looking forward to your updates & other ideas.
hendrix96 Good start but the pose makes the design confusing and hard to understand
Integer Mova I like this but the change to a darker blue takes away from the design. Maybe a bulkier/heavier/steelier shell would improve this.
aXl having a hard time reading the design
Magistrum Inspired and clever and well executed, yet again :) He looks a bit robotic for something that knows DD/CM though
Doran Dragon I dig it :) very cool. I'll echo your comment to Knirp though - try designing an evolution for this guy and see if that works, not sure if he will be able to accommodate the stats we're going to have to eventually give this thing
Slapperfish Pretty cool! Can't think of any critique, but maybe you could try to think of ways you could make the design stand out more. Proportions/colours are two ideas.
HeaLnDeaL Ok water drop llama is a fabulous idea haha. Its steel bits feel a bit slapped on though
KAIZA Very well executed but on the borderline of problematic inorganicness
Quanyails Totally brilliant and adorable. I guess it'll probably need more details and to look a bit more impressive to fit the eventual stats (how about a claw-footed tub?), but I really love it just how it is!
