Phase 1 is group phase. We will have 9 groups of 4 players each (total of 36 players) and the players of each group will face every player from their own groups.
Each group will have a "head", which is one of the 9 players that either:
a) Won a tournament
b) Reached second place on a tournament
c) Are on the ASBuddies finals I chose ASBuddies because it is the oldest tourney. It was supposed to have ended, so I since I can only choose one tourney, ASBuddies is more logical than Llama
Those 9 players are: Its_A_Random, Birkal, Smashlloyd20, Canis Majoris, Matezoide, Dogfish44, tavok, Frosty and deadfox081.
So every group will have one of those. The other members were RNG'd. The end result iiiissss...

Let me replace the RNG'd numbers with the respective players.
All first places of the groups will advance. As for the other slots (there will be 3, 7 or 9 other slots, with final decision when refs are announced), we will choose the players that played the best. Not necessarily the second place that played the best, mind you (although most if not all will probably be second places). Yes, "played the best" is an extremely subjective parameter, but, hey, all parameters have flaws and can be abused at some point. To make this less of an issue, the decision will be made by voting, with the voters being Mods + Council + Hosts (I will make a convo with all of them and the ones that feel like voting have 72h to do so, with self-voting being prohibited) with me voting only to break ties.
"Played the best" will also be the tiebreaker method for defining the first place of each group.
BTW if you have problems with that arrangement say now or forever hold your peace. I accept suggestions.

Battles for first round are as follows:

Bring 4, Pick 3 Singles. You PM 4 pokemons to the ref from your profile, but the battle will be 3vs3 singles. You will choose and send out your mons as the battle develops.
ASB Arena
Strict 72h Disqualification. One warning per player. First warning (any tag after DQ interval is passed) resets the timer. If the player passes DQ interval a second time, DQ can be called, giving the player one hour to post (with full orders/pokemon, just saying "orders coming watch this space" doesn't suffice) after DQ is called to rescind it. If one hour passes, the player is DQ'd regardless of the ref posting or not. User calling DQ must tag DQ'd player. Referees please tag the combatants when you have finished your reffing. Players, if you know you're going to be away you better post a Leave of Absence BEFORE you leave, or give a very good reason in case of an emergency. DQ time won't pass during a valid LoA. I will say this only once: don't test me
2 Month Time Limit: After two months I reserve the right to forcibly end any matches that don't seem like ending anytime soon. Said matches will be judged by the voters.
Infinite Recoveries/Chills per Pokémon.
Three Substitutions per player excluding KO Substitutions.
One Mega Evolution
Switch = OK
Abilities = ALL
Items = ON.
Arena: ASB Tournament Arena
Ubers Rule: Mewtwo and Victini may be used in battle, but they will take up the mega slot of the player. Other pokemon may be included in this list as the tournament progresses.
Reminder: You have one week from the moment I post the battles with refs to send your team. Needless to say, not doing so (even if you are late by a second) without a LoA will result in DQ. Since a week is a lot, I won't accept excuses, k?
