Hello everyone! So, here we are again, at the end of another project. I'm not going to lie, this was a tough project for me, and I think a lot of other people as well, and it took a whopping 124 days from concept submissions to final product. Making a mega Pokemon for the first time certainly had something to do with it, and it did feel like a struggle at times, but ultimately we got through it, and I am very excited to see how our creation works in real battles.

Before we get to that, though, we need one last part to be formalized: height and weight. I need to ask around a bit to really get the ideas flowing, so thanks to everyone who helped toss around ideas. I don't think Crucibelle would be too big, but if the pot is reasonably sized, then it would at lest be a few feet, so overall, for the base form, I'm going to put it at 1.3 meters (4' 3"). After coming out of its pot, it looks a a tiny bit taller, so the mega will go up to 1.4 meters (4' 7"). As for the weight, I decided to do some approximations based on pot size and how much it would weigh filled with certain liquids. I'm not going to go into detail, since it is all just guesses and not really super interesting, but in the end, what I came to for the base is 23.6 Kg (52.0 lbs). When it comes to the mega, I honestly feel like it probably wouldn't have that much more to it, and it actually breaks part of the pot away, so I decided to drop the weight by a bit down to 22.5 Kg (49.6 lbs).

I don't really want to spend a long time going over anything here, so let me just finish this up by saying that I greatly appreciate the effort that everyone put into this project. You are what make things like this possible. I especially want to thank the TLT members imanalt, DetroitLolcat, Sparktrain, and HeaLnDeaL, who helped lead us to this final destination.

And so, with that said, here it is, the 21st product of the Create-A-Pokémon project - Crucibelle:

Name: Crucibelle

Concept:
Name: Typing Underdog

General Description: A Pokémon which utilizes an undervalued typing to its full potential, by playing towards both its strengths and weaknesses.

Justification: Each typing possesses a unique set of characteristics, causing all of them to perform very differently in various aspects of battle. However, not every typing has been granted the opportunity to display this potential, being forced into suboptimal roles by virtue of stats, ability and movepool, and therefore often being labelled as “bad”.
This concept aims to do a detailed analysis on the primary function of such a typing along with its potentially unexplored capabilities, by creating a Pokémon that that emphasizes the typing’s most prominent traits and utilizes them effectively.
This approach will not only allow us to widen our understanding on the unique niche and preferred playstyle of the typing, but will also give us additional insight on the mechanics that lead to success and failure of the typing when comparing CAP to the wielders in the lower tiers.

Questions to be answered:
  • What are the most important traits the Pokémon gains from the chosen typing, both positive and negative?
  • Is quality or quantity of weaknesses/resistances/immunities more relevant to the chosen typing? What does this mean for the way it is played?
  • How significant is the niche provided by the typing in OU? Are there any striking flaws in the typing that can’t be played around and prevent the Pokémon from performing reliably?
  • How reliant is the typing on stats, ability and movepool in order to succeed in OU?
  • Are the unique characteristics granted by the typing enough to set the Pokemon apart, or does it face strong competition for its role from Pokémon of other types?
  • Is there any distinct playstyle that suits the chosen typing the best? Or can the same typing be utilized in an entirely different approach to similar success?
  • How important is a type’s versatility for its overall success?
  • Is a single Pokémon capable of portraying most relevant aspects of the entire type?

The amount of hype over Crucibelle is unreal. I need to spam Head Smash, pronto.

Congrats to everyone who worked on it. It was fun, it was great, and it's cute.

It's a majestical beastie cute slime mimic! I'm looking forward to seeing Crucibelle's usage in the playtest skyrocket in comparison to Naviathan.

I'm ready to use our Head-Smashin' Gunk-Shottin' Low-Kickin' U-turnin' Wood Hammerin' Coilin' Regeneratin' Mold-Breakin' Magic Guardin' potmon!

Can we get an animation of cruci pulling a tree out of the pot?

Little disappointed that the 3D models didn't finish on-time for the playtest and the final product post, but having to create two models, animations, riggings, textures, UVs, and renders... I suppose that isn't too surprising. We were nearly done with the base form too. Regardless, I'm looking forward to how CAP 21, aka Crucibelle, will perform in the meta.

C'mon Jas, at least provide a song for our beloved creation!

Here's to hoping Cruci is really fun to play with, in both the test ladder and the CAP metagame!

Fantastic job everyone! I'm excited for the playtest.

Also, why does the mega weigh less than the non-mega?

I look forwards to testing this new CAP during the play test, and immensely enjoyed participating in the building process (despite my making many mistakes), and was definitely and educational experience for me as a new-ish person to CAP. This thing has some major hype, and might actually (hopefully) be a really good 6th gen CAPmon that is really viable! Everyone did a great job with this!

The hype is real for this CAP. I can't wait to teambuild with this mon. It shows so much poetentiall overall based on it's stats and it's so nice to see a Mega CAP come out. I'm just soo pumped I can't contain my energy. Although I don't feel like I contributed much towards the overall project besides voting. I would however love to contribute on furture CAP projects.

Question: When will the CAP gallery be updated with CAP 21's sprite submissions? I'm curious to see what other people submitted.

For being the first CAP I participated in beyond just voting, I don't have a lot to say about it. So I'll just say that it came out nice enough and that I hope it does well for its Playtest.

Maybe next time I'll stick around for the whole thing instead of just the first half. :P

Wow, we already arrived at the final product? It doesn't feel like that long ago that the project started, perhaps due to it being a Mega pokemon, which is pretty huge. First CAP I participated in (although very minimally) and I gotta say that I really like the way she turned out, and I'm incredibly hyped to play around with Head Smash spam in the playtest.

This mega CAP must've been so hard for all you guys so am quick Koudos to the leaders!

This is my third CAP but the first one that I've had the pleasure of watching all the way though, and it looks amazing

Well done guys.

wait dont the spikes coming from the pot and lid along with the stone coat over the back spikes compensate for the lost weight?
Well... uh... that is just thinning the density of the parts that already exist... and uh.... since when has Pokemon weight logic made sense? :P

ill give you this, based on the bubble crucibelle forms the liquid appears to have lost weight through the power of pokemagic, also ill assume that the pot hollowed a bit to help build crucibelle's stone body and to keep balance on its newly formed tip.
sooo in conclusion ill let it slide this time but remember captain science is watching.

IRL made it harder to be involved with the later stages, but this is a cute CAP! The journey was interesting for the most part, which helped a lot in motivating me to post. The overall end result looks fine, it may do very well. What I really hope is that everyone learned a little from this concept, or at least gained a new perspective.

Well done everyone who put in the time and effort to help make Cruci. I wasn't as involved as I'd like to be due to RL shenanigans, but I'm really happy that I contributed a little bit this time round :D

Uhhh, Hello, I'm BushWhack and I'm a 3D cycle/unit animator. I literally just heard about this forum like 30 mins ago, and I'm already deeply interested. I already read through the process of Crucibelle and now I'm on here looking to see if I am allowed to help with the next Cap's animation?

Thank you,
BushWhack.

Cap is open to anyone who wants to contribute so feel free to contribute when the next cap rolls around, also the cap 3D modeling project for older caps is still beings worked on so perhaps they could use your skills there (though i wouldnt quote me on that) anyway welcome to CAP i look forward to seeing more of you around here.
